http://img3.pcgames.com.cn/pcgames/0710/01/955502_pcgames070931shana01_thumb.jpg作为电击文库的当家作品，《灼眼的夏娜》在2006年第一季最终话是就打出了会制作剧场版的消息，如今剧场版DVD已经发售，相信各位已经通过网络观赏到了与TV版略有不同的剧场版动画。早在今年4月秋叶原UDX的3D剧场会场内举行的《灼眼的夏娜》、《犬神》、《奇诺之旅》的“电击文库 春之祭典”上就公布了夏娜会在今秋推出TV第二季的消息，而目前播放日也定在了10月4日。

《灼眼的夏娜》TV第二季的故事将从小说第八卷开始讲起，以NDS游戏《灼眼的夏娜DS》中的登场人物，红世之徒，戏睡乡“メア”入侵御崎市开始开篇。据监督渡部高志所说，故事会对第一季的一些伏笔作出解释，并加入不少这个时代的小故事。第二季STAFF和声优会由原班人马担任，“钉宫之誓”依旧强势走高。
