<P>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <A href="http://www.chinawts.com/files/remotepic/2006-2/27/2006022711585066954.jpg" target=_blank></A>美国加利福尼亚州有座西来寺，位于洛杉矶的哈仙达山岗。该寺坐北朝南，从山门至寺顶，层层殿堂，依山递进，错落有致。寺院平面图呈塔型，周围风景秀丽，草木葱茏。其建筑面积9500多平方米，占地总面积90余亩。&nbsp;西来寺是台湾佛光山僧侣于1986-88年间在加州创建的一所道场，寺庙建筑具有明清时期的风貌，整个建筑群体以一条南北中轴线纵贯其中，左右对称，结构严谨。 <BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 其山门为一古色古香的中式琉璃牌楼，四柱三间三楼。正面额书“佛光山西来寺”六个大字。两根外柱上书写着“佛光慈心普被恒沙界；西来悲愿广度亿万人。”&nbsp;&nbsp;两根主楼柱上书写着“东土佛光普照三千界；西来法水长流五大洲。”&nbsp;显而易见，此楹联道出了寺名的含义——“佛法西来”。在佛教中，发愿是修行的一大法门。穿过牌楼，回首观望，阴面匾额书有“四弘誓愿”四个大字。四根楼柱上，从西至东，写着誓愿的具体内容：“众生无边誓愿度，烦恼无尽誓愿断，法门无量誓愿学，佛道无上誓愿成。”</P>
