1982年4月24日，出生在德克萨斯，Kelly的音乐之路可以说是相当曲折的。没有唱片公司肯为她出唱片，她不得不转战洛杉矶，寻求机会，她参加了著名音乐创作人Gerry Goffin的录音工作，但是随后Gerry Goffin的生病，使她再次失去了机会。不久她的房子着了火，而她的汽车也被警局拖走，凯莉的精神和经济都受到了极大的打击. 2002年9月4日对于她来说是一个值得纪念的日子，凯莉获得了《美国偶像》的冠军，随后她的事业发展顺利. 2003年4月15日首张录音室专辑《Thankful》发表，首周即登顶排行榜冠军，并且创下了双白金的销量。 2004年11月30日，Kelly Clarkson的第二张专辑《Breakaway》成功发行。毋庸置疑，Kelly Clarkson是到目前为止“美国偶像大赛”中成绩最为显著的明星之一。更换了新的制作人，Kelly Clarkson的音乐风格也大为不同，这个曾经以演唱的嗓音酷似“花蝴蝶”Mariah Carey而被广大歌迷所熟知的女孩，如今也像很多女星一样转向了“摇滚”。

Sia早在2001年就推出过一张充满R&B流行气味的处女专辑《Healing Is Difficult》，其中采样了俄国作曲家普罗科菲耶夫芭蕾舞剧《罗密欧与朱丽叶》音乐片段的单曲“Taken For Granted”还打入了排行榜前十位，曾被一些乐评誉为“将要崛起的R&B佳作”。从这些赞誉看来，似乎Sia的乐坛前路将会是一帆风顺的，然而，之后她却沉寂下来了。 　　 　　男友的去世，把Sia的生命弄得一团糟，脑海里的感觉搅成一块。她用了很长的一段时间疗伤，终于慢慢地从阴影中走了中走了出来，也开始重新思考往后的音乐路向。与Zero 7的合作不仅为Sia带来音乐生涯上的一个重要转折，也对她的音乐重新定位产生了重大影响。
显然，音乐上增加的阅历让Sia确定了她日后的音乐走向。她发现自己最喜爱的还是清新民谣的乐风，所以她在个人的第二张专辑《Colour The Small One》里，决定回归自己在音乐上的本质，重拾自己最喜爱也是最适合她的清新、柔缓民谣曲风，不过她也在一般的清新民谣风格中加入了属于她个人的音乐色彩，一种散发着淡淡忧郁气息的魔力，并将此刻划成带有她个人私密情感印记的音乐标签。
